Wombourne will be filled with local pride on Sunday 2 July as the village welcomes the prestigious street Carnival Parade.
The theme this year is “1977 – 40 years of Wombourne Carnival” and to compliment the theme we be crowning a carnival King and Queen, who will take to the throne on one of the floats on our famous carnival parade. We are looking for couples who are interested in becoming King and Queen, who were together before or around the first ever Wombourne Carnival (in 1977). If you are interested please get in touch, via our email address or social media pages.
The Parade starts at 12pm, from Wombourne Civic Centre, passing down Gravel Hill, Common Road, Giggetty Lane, Planks Lane, Church Road, High Street and back to Wombourne Civic Centre. There will be temporary road closures during the parade.
So come and join us along the parade route to cheer on the floats and follow them up to the main carnival site for the official opening at 1pm.
